A Pal is a Christian woman who is willing to share her time with a girl. She takes an interest in her Gal, getting to know her, praying for her, and doing things together from time to time. The Gals are girls from our church from third grade through high school. The Pal is asked to make a commitment for a year at a time but is encouraged to be involved with the girl long term. Close relationships have been formed through the years that have a powerful impact on these young women.
Each year we organize a get together for all the Pals and Gals both in the fall and in the spring. Recently this fall we took a trip to Robert H. Treman State Park to hike the falls. It was a fun day. We hiked down the falls after a lunch of hot dogs and stuff! Then we hiked back up the falls slowly but surely! Some of us got to the top awhile before the others.

In December the Pal-Gal group met at Karleen Sorber's home. We had dinner, made a craft, played games, exchanged gifts, sang Christmas carols and we all enjoyed it a lot!

In early December, many of the pal/gal couples filled stockings to send the service men for Christmas. Some of us made a night of it and went to the Mall with our girls and delivered them and then had a bite to eat.
