Serving with Baptist Mid-Missions in Lima, Peru since 1984. The Whipples are church planters. They were able to buy a building to use for their current church meetings and have plans to build in the near future. Besides their church planting ministry they have a literature ministry to supply local churches with Sunday School material, commentaries and other local church resources. Gary teaches in a local Bible Institute and oversees the Good News Camp.

The Whipples have one daughter, Amanda, who is married to Tim Clark, a youth Pastor in Port Huron, MI. They also have three grandchildren.
